'Great is Thy Faithfulness' holds great significance to the Kast family. It meant so much to Gretchen to have her dearest friends sing this song together at her 70th birthday party on July 7, 2012.

Anna Nunez & Anna Woelbern performed a dance to 'This is Your Today,' written and performed by Benjamin Myers (www.benjaminmyersmusic.com). As you can see, Gretchen was extremely touched by their heartfelt gift.

Grandma on your 70th birthday we wanted to share a few things about you that not everyone might know.  When you thought we weren't looking we have actually seen you.  You might have thought we were not listening, but we have actually heard you.

We have seen you

slide down slides,

dance to silly songs,

run at the park,

and fight a good battle with light sabers.

We have seen you

jump on stomp rockets

and actually go in the pool, although you can't swim

swing high on the play structure,

and jump even higher on the trampoline. 

We have heard you.....

pray in the morning when you thought I was asleep

read thousands of stories

           

We have heard you

sing to the babies at church

tell stories of when you were a girl

pray the Scriptures at our Life Group.

We have watched you

make hot chocolate in the morning,

set the table as if it were for the queen,

and drive hundreds of miles just to be with me.

We have watched you

deliver meals to your friends and neighbors

celebrate others' victories with joy

and share their trials with tears. 

Grandma we have seen and heard and watched you for several years.  But, do you want to know what has been your greatest gift to us? 

We know you love us,

and we know you love Jesus. 

No matter what, those are the things we will always remember about you.
