Hacienda Temozon

Hacienda Temozon, 35 minutes from Uxmal Ruins, is part of the Luxury Collection (Mexico's 5 best haciendas.) This is where we spent our 5th day in the Yucatan.

Turkeys crossing

On our way to the ruins, we ran into a turkey fight.

Ben Dancing

On the rooftop of Rosas & Xcolate in Merida; Ben dancing and wearing his Cuban shirt from Lina ("thanks mom!")

hacienda san jose

Hacienda San Jose, just outside of Merida, is part of the Luxury Collection (Mexico's top 5 haciendas). We arrived in the rain after dark, so this is Ben's first time to see the grounds in daylight.

Rain Rain

Six hours of driving! Looking for our hacienda in the pouring rain, after dark, and nearly out of gas.

Tour of Hacienda San Jose

Our second night in the Yucatan, we stayed at Hacienda San Jose, about 400 years old. Restored to its original condition, the hacienda now serves as a luxury hotel. Each room has a jungle jacuzzi and there are unique touches like cieba trees growing through the bathroom floor.

Hacienda San Jose Suite

Our second night in the Yucatan was spent at Hacienda San Jose just outside of Merida. It is one of the five haciendas included in the Luxury Collection, and is one of the best in Mexico. Stunning!

Iguanas

Ran into these guys while doing inspections on Isla Holbox, Mexico.

Casa Sandra at Isla Holbox

Day # 1 of our inspections throughout the Yucatan. It was quite a trip to get to this little island, but our stay at Casa Sandra made it worth the effort.

Bumpy Road to Isla Holbox

After meeting Ben at the Cancun airport, we drove 2.5 hrs to the port town near Isla Holbox. We jumped on a boat and road 35 minutes to Isla Holbox. When our "taxi" golf cart didn't show up, we hitched a ride with a Frenchman named Michael. What an adventure!
